DMCA / Takedown
APKDown respects intellectual property rights and responds to valid notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and similar laws.
1. Our policy
apkdown.com lists Android apps and links to their APK files for informational and convenience purposes. If you are a copyright owner or authorised agent and believe that a listing, file, image, or text on apkdown.com infringes your rights, we will review your notice and remove or disable access to the material when appropriate.
App developers can also contact us to update or remove a listing for any reason, even without a formal copyright claim.
2. Filing a takedown notice
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must include:
- A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed (for example, the app name and its official store or developer URL).
- The exact URL(s) on apkdown.com of the material you want removed (e.g.
https://apkdown.com/app/example-app). - Your contact information: name, company (if any), postal address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.
Developers are encouraged to send the request from an email address on the official developer domain, or one listed on the app's official store page, so we can verify ownership quickly.
3. What happens next
- We acknowledge complete notices and normally act within 1–3 business days.
- If the notice is valid, we remove or disable the listing or file and may notify the party who supplied it.
- Incomplete notices may be delayed until the missing details are provided.
4. Counter-notification
If you believe material was removed by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address including:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material removed and the URL where it appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, telephone number, and consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court.
5. Repeat infringers
We remove sources and uploaders that are the subject of repeated valid infringement notices.
6. False claims
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly misrepresents that material is infringing — or was removed by mistake — may be liable for damages. Please make sure you own the rights before submitting a notice.
